By Damilola Adekoya
In 1984 Alizé was introduced to the Kobrand Corporation at the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America convention in New Orleans. A common company known as L & L was created to produce and distribute Alizé, which means 'a gentle trade wind' in French.

Reserva… A Rounded Wine Of Full Flavour

By Damilola Adekoya

THE Reserva (2006) has a generous history as brand of Campo Viejo and also as a Spanish wine. The Grape Type, consists of 75 per cent Tempranillo, 15per cent Graciano and 10 per cent Mazuelo, all blended into the final wine.
This wine is produced in a typical Rioja style, and shows good fruit concentration with a composition of varieties like, jammy red fruit, vanilla coconut, raspberries and blackberries, liquor ice, pepper, vanilla, coconut, cherries and black plums.
The colour is rugby red, with a gold rim, and the wine is quite transparent around the edges and almost a dark pink shade.
Campo Viejo Reserva is a wine for those who appreciate rich, robustly flavoured dishes. When it comes to food matching, it is an ideal partner to rustic red-meat dishes such as roast shoulder of lamb and autumnal game stews. It is also the perfect accompaniment to chunks of smoky chorizo. It is also well suited with pork, lamb chops and grilled steak. Alternatively, it could be enjoyed with an after-dinner platter of Spanish blue cheeses.
Not suitable for vegetarians, the red wine, which has an alcoholic volume of 13.5 per cent, has the subtly spicy undertones of vanilla, cloves and pepper, and is smooth and balanced on the palate with full, elegant feel and a long lingering finish, with cocoa and coffee come through.

Brut Imperial’s Subtlety

By Damilola Adekoya

MOET and Chandon’s Brut Imperial Champagne is a balanced assemblage of the three grape varieties, which are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
It is made to share, for lovers and celebrations, this brand of wine is widely known across the world.
The elegant and harmonious blend in pale yellow liquid with green hints comes in stylish, yet familiar bottle that never fails to impress. The taste is supple, with a refined and refreshing finish. Each mouthful is an absolute delight.
French in origin, this sparkling wine, and the best-selling brand of Moet was introduced in the 1860s. It has a delicate well-balanced palate; yet, it is complex with great depth infused with flavours of butter and brioche and a high concentration of candied fruit, ginger bread and vanilla. A very pleasurable champagne to savour, it leaves behind a sense of harmony and mellowness with peach and nectarine lingering.
Its aroma is subtle and tropically warm with a lime blossom attack, and an aperitif wine, which also accompanies fish dishes.
This delicious champagne goes with absolutely anything, except chili. Although the French would think it is sacrilege, it is excellent when well chilled. The beading is very fine and long-lasting.
